Tool · Live ClinicalTrials.gov data

Site Overlap Explorer

Find every registered trial for a compound and where it runs, then see which of a study's sites also take part in similar studies, from the same sponsor or from others. Every number links back to its registry record.

Queries go straight to the ClinicalTrials.gov API when you search; nothing is stored.

Compound search looks up generic names, brand names and development codes in ChEMBL, then queries ClinicalTrials.gov with all of them. You can switch individual terms off before re-running.

Two questions this tool answers

1. Which trials involve a compound, and where do they run?

Search a compound. You get every matching registry record, whether the compound is what the trial tests, a comparator, or part of a combination, with each trial's reported sites on a map and in a searchable table.

2. Which of a study's sites also run similar studies?

Open a study (from a compound result or by NCT number). The explorer finds studies with the same indication and a comparable phase, groups their sites with transparent matching rules, and separates overlap with the same lead sponsor from overlap with other sponsors.

Site data is only as complete as the registry record: many studies list no sites, and some sponsors register placeholder names such as "Local Institution". These are flagged, never counted as zero or matched by guesswork. See Methodology & limitations.
